The FDNY Special Operations Command Task Force (SOC-TF) conducted a full scale exercise last week, which simulated a terrorist event in a dual tunnel used for vehicles and trains, and an explosion on a commercial passenger ship. When fully activated and deployed, the SOC Task Force is modeled after an 80 member FEMA Type I Urban Search and Rescue Task Force. Task Force Taji departure parade: Australian soldiers from the 7th Brigade were farewelled by dignitaries on April 21st at Gallipoli Barracks in Brisbane. Task Group Taji is deploying under Operation Okra, the Australian contribution to the international effort against the Daesh (also known as ISIL) terrorist threat in Iraq.
